Funded by the Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) the Minority Serving Institution Partnership Project (MSIPP) created a partnership with Sandia Laboraties (SNL) and the Kansas City Nuclear Security Campus in the area of Advanced Manufacturing. This funding also established a partnership/consortium with four other TCUs: This funding also established a partnership/consortium with four other TCUs: Bay Mills Community College, Cankdeska Cinkana Community College, Salish Kootenai College and Turtle Mountain Community College to create a pathway for TCU students to intern and ultimately work at an NNSA Enterprise. This funding supports infrastructure (metrology equipment and material characterization equipment), outreach activities to increase awareness of the NNSA facilities and advanced manufacturing and to increase enrollment, and to work with subject matter experts to improve faculty, staff and student skills and knowledge.
